A PAIR OF CHARLES II SILVER COMMUNION CUPS WITH GEORGE II SILVER COVERS THE CUPS LONDON, 1675, MAKER'S MARK WG WITH CRESCENT BENEATH, ATTRIBUTED TO WILLIAM GRANT THE COVERS WITH MARK OF JOHN GAMON ONLY STRUCK FOUR TIMES, CIRCA 1730 The cups with knopped stem, the covers domed and with baluster finial, engraved under the foot and on the cover with an inscription, marked near rim, under foot and inside cover 12¼ in. (31 cm.) high 44 oz. (1,373 gr.) The inscription under the foot reads 'St. Mary Newington 1675.' The inscription on the cover reads ' Ex Dono Eliz Yallop to S t Mary Newington Butts .' (2)
