THE PORCELAIN YONGZHENG (1723-1735), THE STANDS FRENCH, 19TH CENTURY
A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN FISH-BOWLS ON GILTWOOD STANDS THE PORCELAIN YONGZHENG (1723-1735), THE STANDS FRENCH, 19TH CENTURY Each finely enamelled with 'The Generals of the Yang Family', on one side with ladies on horseback practising their combat skills in a garden before a trellis entwined with roses, being watched by three scholars on a terrace, the other side with the ladies riding in an extensive river landscape, each scene between turquoise-green trellis-pattern bands, the sides with gilt lion-mask handles, and the interior with five iron-red carp swimming amongst water-weed below the everted floral turquoise-ground rim 37 in. (94 cm.) high, overall; 24 in. (61 cm.) wide; 22 in. (56 cm.) deep (2)
