A pair of French pottery gilt-metal-mounted cylindrical vases decorated to imitate cloisonn with cranes above lily pads between blossoming branches, the pierced rims cast with band of stiff leaves, with ring handles, the base cast with a key-fret pattern and elephant's head feet, printed mark, circa 1880 (some rubbing to mounts) -- 30.8cm. high See colour plate 5 (2)
