* A Pair of Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Marquetry Bonheurs du Jour 19th century each having a three-quarter galleried D-form top above a paneled central door with a circular reserve inlaid to show a musical trophy and a drawer, flanked on each side by two quarter-round galleried shelves, the base having a rectangular top with eared corners above the inset leather writing slide and a central long drawer flanked on each side by two short drawers, the reverse fitted with a series of faux drawers, the whole raised on cylindrical fluted tapering legs ending in toupie feet. Height 48 x width 32 3/4 x depth 17 1/2 inches. Estimate $ 8,000-12,000 Property from the Collection of Gordon and Patsy Wassenaar, Grand Rapids, Michigan Each in good, stable, usable condition. Marble to tops and shelves intact without cracks or repairs. All bronze mounts appear present with even, fairly bright patina, each with partially detached gilt bronze mounts to the reverse. Exterior with even finish, some light surface wear (nicks and scratches) consistent with age and use. Some tight age splits to veneers with some scattered minor losses. Cabinets with finished interiors. Some age splits visible to interiors and backs. Short lower drawers all with spring action openings. Three keys present. Partial label to one on the underside.
