A PAIR OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN ROYAL SELADON-GROUND OCTAGONAL BOTTLE-VASES CIRCA 1730-34, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS ADJACENT TO FOOTRIM, WHEEL-ENGRAVED JAPANESE PALACE INVENTORY MARKS N=29I-/W PICKED OUT IN BLACK ENAMEL Each painted with sprays of Kakiemon-style flowers, rockwork and birds in flight on plain gilt-lined panels, alternating with Seladon-ground panels, the shoulder gilt with scrolled trefoils and pendant husks, the neck painted with Kakiemon flower-sprays and sprigs (minute wear, one with a small footrim chip, the other damaged and repaired) 8 3/8 in.
