A PAIR OF SEVRES (HARD PASTE) ETRUSCAN RED-GROUND DESSERT-PLATES FROM A SERVICE ORDERED BY PRINCE NAPOLEON 1853-61, BOTH WITH PRINTED S.53 IN A GREEN OVAL, PRINTED IRON-RED CROWNED N MARK TO BOTH, ONE WITH THE DATE CODE FOR 1861 The centres with a basket of fruit and a jug on a bridge across a stream flanked by flowers with butterflies above and with a tray of fruit, a bow and a quiver of arrows by two tazzas on pedestals with a garland of roses within the wells of black and gilt gadroons and a band of gilt diaper ornament, the borders with stylised gilt anthemion and white and gilt roundels, gilt line rims 9½ in. (24.2 cm.) diam. (2)
