A PALE GREYISH-GREEN JADE SCABBARD CHAPE WARRING STATES PERIOD-EARLY WESTERN HAN DYNASTY, 3RD-2ND CENTURY BC Of lenticular section, the chape is carved on both sides with a taotie mask and angular scrolls incorporating T-scrolls. The smaller flat end is pierced with a central hole flanked by two bullnose perforations for attachment to the bottom of the scabbard.
