A Pond Model Of The Yacht Florence Anonymous; British, 20th century A fine early 20th century pond model from the Model Yachting Association. The hull of the model has been built up from wood, faired, sanded and painted with black topsides, a red bottom and a white waterline. The deck of the model is of mahogany veneer and has the deck planking drawn in india ink. The model is rigged as a cutter with a double headsail rig, gaff rigged main and topsail. The model is fitted with numerous fittings including chainplates, mast partners, jib and main travelers, steering quardant, center hatch with the name painted on the cover along with the initials for the Model Yachting Association and the burgee. The model is fitted with lead for the keel and is displayed on a mahogany stand. 60½ x 8¼ x 56½ in.(153.6 x 20.9 x 143.5 cm.) model on stand.
