A Queen Anne walnut, burr walnut and feather banded bachelor's chest of drawers, circa 1710, 82cm high, 75cm wide, 40cm deep Provenance: P.A. Mann Esq, The Manor House, Croom's Hill, Greenwich, London. Acquired from Church Street Galleries, Kensington Church Street, London W8, 30th December 1970. A printed copy of a photograph of the original purchase receipt is available with this lot. The Manor House at Croom's Hill, Greenwich is a Grade II listed building and was built circa 1695 for Sir Robert Robinson Lieutenant-Governor of Greenwich Hospital. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits and chips. Some small sections of old replacement veneers in areas throughout, including to the top - see images. Some small later blocks to the interior of the carcass. Metalware appears original. Some variation between the handles fixtures to the interiors of the drawers. Backboards with some strips of later tape. A wash has been applied to backboards. Sections of replacement veneer to both rear feet. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
