(151cm.) long body-tube with starfinder telescope, supported on twin columns, with eye shade and dust cap, the main object glass with dust cap, with rack and pinion focusing, mounted on two limbs with knurled nut tightening screws, with the bubble level in suspension, the body-tube supported by three telescopic bracing struts, with compass joint and pin end, the vertical half-circle divided 60-0-70, with vernier, the mahogany and brass adjusting rod with spring clip, compass joint, the adjustment gearing engaged by friction slide and block, the azimuth hour circle divided I-XII (x 2), with minute sub-divisions, with similar gear operation and tightening friction clamp enabling the rectangular-section base plate to rotate over the horizontal hour circle, with massive tubular vertical support, arranged to read with a vernier scale against the main brass quadrant, divided 10-90, mounted on a diagonally-braced brass-mounted mahogany stand with screw adjusting feet, overall height with telescope in the horizontal position -- 68in.
