A RARE AND UNUSUAL GILT-DECORATED LACQUERED SOFTWOOD RECESSED-LEG TABLE 18TH CENTURY The rectangular top painted and decorated in gilding with archaistic and leafy scroll around a square panel pierced with interlocked ruyi scroll surrounding a central disc, the elaborate reticulated aprons and spandrels in the form of interlocked archaistic fret and further decorated with painted scroll patterns, the design repeated on the beaded legs of square section which terminate in scroll-form feet which are set into the base frame painted with leafy floral sprays 35 7/8 in. (91.1 cm.) high, 50½ in. (128.3 cm.) wide, 22 7/16 in. (57 cm.) deep
