A RARE DING-TYPE VASE, MEIPING LIAO/NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY, 11TH-12TH CENTURY The vase is well potted with an elegant body of tapering ovoid shape that is surmounted by a cylindrical neck that rises to a wide mouth with lipped rim, and is covered overall with a transparent glaze of creamy white color that falls to the edge of the foot where the fine white, porcellaneous ware is exposed. The recessed base is also glazed. 16¾ in. (41.3 cm.) high
