A SET OF FOUR DERBY FIGURES EMBLEMATIC OF THE CONTINENTS, Asia as a girl standing before a recumbent camel holding a vase, Africa as a blackamoor wearing elephant's head hat and holding a cornucopia of fruit, with one knee resting on the head of a recumbent lion, Europe as a woman holding a cornucopia of fruit and a baton, further attributes at her feet, and America as a youth with a bow and quiver of arrows standing with one foot resting on the head of an alligator, painted in colours and enriched in gilding and named in gilt on the shaped scroll-moulded bases (Asia restored through neck and with restoration to left arm and right hand, vase and camel's ear, Africa with restoration to elephant's head and lion's tail, Europe with restoration to right hand, baton and crown, America with restoration to bow and alligator's tail, all with some chips and restorations to extremities), blue crossed swords and incised No. 200 marks, Robt. Bloor & Co., circa 1835 about 22cm. high (4)
