A seven-case lacquer inro Edo period (19th century), signed Kajikawa saku and with red jar seal Decorated in polychrome takamaki-e , hiramaki-e and aogai inlay with a scene of a lantern, Japanese lute ( biwa ) and drum behind a curtain of state ( kicho ) with mother-of-pearl tabs, on a black and gold togidashi ground patterned with clouds and applied with gold hirame , the interior nashiji ; with a box ( hako ) netsuke decorated in similarly colored lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlay with a flute, sho (mouth organ) and its brocade bag, signed Toyo , and with goldstone bead ojime 4in. (10.2cm.) long
