A SÈVRES-PATTERN BLEU CELESTE AND GILT-METAL VASE AND COVER, the shallow globular porcelain body painted with two groups of playful cherubs in a continuous landscape frieze between bands of 'jewels', mounted with a metal liner, a waisted shoulder cast with spiralling gadroons and with two double angular handles with cherubs' mask terminals, the cover cast with gadroons below a grapevine finial, the lower body with a band of leaves above a waisted stem cast with a laurel-wreath, on a square beaded plinth cast with drapery and on four feet (some 'jewels' lacking, wear to gilding), late 19th Century 17¾in. (45cm.) high
