A small scale model of the American Clipper Ship Flying Cloud Anonymous (American, 20th century) The hull of this model has been built up from the solid with the bottom of the hull covered in copper foil to replicate hull coppering. The topsides are painted black. The decks of the model are mahogany and have been scored to replicate deck planking. The deck of the model is fitted with numerous details which include: anchors, anchor chain, capstans, windlass, ladders, deck houses, pin and fife rails, 4 ships boats (2 on davits), bundled spare spars on deck, hatches, stove pipe companionway, binnacle, ship's wheel, bollards, rudder, etc. The model is rigged with three masts and a bow sprit with cross spars, standing and running rigging, including ratlines, chain plates, turning blocks, halyards, and other details. The model is mounted on a pair of brass pedestals in a brass framed mahogany case. 30 x 13 x 20½ in. (76.2 x 33 x 52.1 cm.) cased dimensions.
