A TIMURID TURQUOISE AND BLACK POTTERY BOWL PROBABLY NISHAPUR, NORTH EAST IRAN, 3RD QUARTER 15TH CENTURY On short foot with rounded sides and slightly flaring rim, painted in black and turquoise, the centre with a large rosette surrounded on four sides with cusped palmettes containing stylised floral sprays, set on a black ground with scrolls, the cavetto with a band of strapwork and a pair of turquoise bands, the exterior with a band of chevrons containing split leaves, the underside of the foot with old collection labels, repaired breaks 8 5/8in. (21.8cm.) diam.
