A TRANSITIONAL RAPIER with double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, iron hilt with knuckle-guard, short rear quillon, side-ring and fig-shaped pommel decorated throughout with punched flowers and foliage, and wire-bound wooden grip, circa 1660, probably Dutch; a small-sword with blade of hollow triangular section, iron hilt (rubbed) with traces of silvering and comprising knuckle-guard, loop-guard filled with a plate, short downcurved rear quillon and ovoidal pommel decorated throughout with punched dots, and later wooden grip, circa 1700; and a transitional rapier with blade of flattened hexagonal section struck on each face with a crescent moon mark, and double inscribed fuller (inscription illegible), iron hilt with double shell pierced with panels of small holes and incised with scrollwork, arms, short quillons with lobe tips, fluted ovoidal pommel, and later wooden grip, mid-17th Century, probably German 29¼in., 31½in. and 37½in. blades (3)
