A VERY FINE CASED 54-BORE ADAMS PATENT FIVE-SHOT SELF-COCKING PERCUSSION REVOLVER BY DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE, 30, KING WILLIAM ST.T., LONDON BRIDGE, SERIAL NO. 16594.R, CIRCA 1856 With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle and double border-lines on each facet, top-strap signed in full, case-hardened serial numbered cylinder engraved with a band of foliage at the front edge, blued border and scroll engraved frame, blued arbor-pin, cylinder-stop and safety-catch, blued Adams patent rammer numbered '1983', chequered walnut butt, blued border and scroll engraved trigger-guard, and scroll engraved butt-cap with hinged trap-cover engraved with a shell, retaining nearly all its original blue finish throughout, London proof marks, in original fitted oak case lined in green baize with accessories including a fine Dixon revolver flask, an Adams double-cavity brass bullet mould and Eley soft leather percussion cap pouch with Deane, Adams & Deane label, the lid with Deane, Adams & Deane trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon 6in. (15.3cm.) barrel
