A very interesting and comprehensive group of 1960s cricketing memorabilia, including signatures, autographs booklets and catalogues etc together with some football programmes, cards, memorabilia and a few autographs from Manchester United. The collection comprises a vast quantity of hundreds of mainly cricketing signatures as follows; 1960 cricket Rothmans Almanack, which has signatures for the 1961 Australia tourists including B Booth, W Grant, G Mckenzie and R Simpson. 1960s complete Kent County Cricket Club signatures (20) and 12 x Derbyshire CCC 1960s signatures (2 copies), a book containing Worcestershire CCC including Derek Isles, Gloucestershire CCC x 2, Australian touring team 1968, Nottingham CCC 1968, Aussie cricketers, test Umpire Sid Burrell. Cricketing spotlight containing numerous signatures signed against photos, including Hampshire, Yorkshire, Middlesex, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Essex, Derbyshire, Sussex, India, Lancashire, Glamorgan, Surrey, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. Includes many dozens of autographs from the early 1960s - 1964 cricket spotlight with signatures, 1965 cricket spotlight with Glamorgan, Hampshire and Worcestershire signatures, 1960 and 1961 spotlight magazines, 1966 spotlight magazines with signatures, an album with extensive late 1950s / early 60s signatures including Worcestershire CCC, Lancashire, Australian CCC, Glamorgan, Worcestershire, Yorkshire, England CC together with selectors commentators. Middlesex, Somerset, Warwickshire, Sussex, Essex, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Nottingham, Southampton. The West Indian touring team, Pakistan Eaglets, England CC, Kent CC, Surrey, Derbyshire, Cardiff , W Indies, Essex 2nd 11, Worcestershire, CCC booklets from 1962 to 1967 also represented are some football programmes - 3 from Wembley including England and Scotland 1955, Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion 1954, Liverpool V Man United 1977, plus many others of similar periods also featured some early show jumping autographs and 16 x Carrs large size sports cards, one with a signature of Brian Close, 1960s large Typhoo Tea footballers with facsimile signatures x 24. A vast quantity of material. The vendor, who collected all of these items himself as a boy, commented accordingly - Mainly from the years 1960/68 and gathered at New Road, Worcester or the Raven Hotel at Droitwich Spa where a lot of overseas touring sides stayed. The big names would be in the Australian, West Indian & Pakistani touring sides together with the England side. Fred Trueman was always very reluctant to sign anything and I believe he should there along with Titmus, Edrich, Graveney, Close along with others. Gary Sobers, Griffiths and most of the rest of the touring WI party I think are there. The Pakistani side I believe was the Eaglets, a side comprising of up and coming players I know Mushtaq Mohammed’s signature was there. Some may have got lost over time having been left with my mother so not sure what is actually there.
