A VERY LARGE PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE 'MANDARIN-PATTERN' BALUSTER VASES AND COVERS, each of quatrefoil section with female figure handles flanking the waisted neck, one side of the body enamelled with an oval panel containing a band of female musicians giving a concert to various gentlemen in the courtyard between two pavilions in a riverscape, and on the other with a similar scene depicting rest and relaxation, the sides with tall panels of figures, the necks with rounded rectangular panels depicting young boys on buffaloback, all reserved on a turquoise chicken-skin ground embellished with gilt lotus meander, the domed covers with seated figural finials (minor restoration to some extremities), Qianlong 69cm. high (2)
