A Victorian brass-cased wall regulator E.J. Dent, retailed by E. White, London; circa 1850 The 10½ in. diam. silvered regulator dial signed E. White, 20. Cockspur St. London. between the seconds and XXIV-hour dial with blued steel hands, the robust movement with four large double-screwed pillars, Harrison's maintaining power, jewelled deadbeat escapement of Vulliamy format, the barrel with indirect bevel gearing to facilitate winding from the right hand side of the case, the pendulum with steel mercury jar with steel pointer to the calibrated top, high quality bronze-cased weight with in-set eye for the pulley with six crossings, the back board applied with a 12 in. silvered weight scale and standard beat scale to the base, the substantial grey-painted custom-made case with flush-fitted glazed door with three hinges and two external locks 56½ ins (143.5 cm) high
