A Victorian mahogany and brass-bound domestic medicine chest with drop-front, with label for D.S. Kemp & Co. BOMBAY & POONA and an impression for THOMSON LONDON on gilt-tooled red leather wallet attached to lid, of trunk style, the interior with velvet lining throughout and fourteen bottles with ground stoppers and paper content labels, the rear with nested trays the first with an apothecary balance and weights and glass measures, two jars with white metal lids, a spatula and other items in the second, the lower rear section with four small bottles with ground stoppers, chamois covers and paper content labels, a glass pill-tile and mortar and pestle, the case with brass recessed handle and escutcheon and key -- 15.8 x 23 x 19.2cm. (6¼ x 9 1/8 x 7 5/8in.)
