A VICTORIAN SILVER COMMEMORATIVE PORTRAIT NECKLACE
A VICTORIAN SILVER COMMEMORATIVE PORTRAIT NECKLACE Designed as eleven circular silver slides, each containing a miniature photograph comprising; Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their nine children, each with christian name engraved to the reverse, on a twin black ribbon, ribbon damaged, dated DEC:6:1860. The inscriptions read; ' VICTORIA R DEC:6:1860 ' for Queen Victoria (1819-1901) ' ALBERT ' for Prince Albert, The Prince Consort (1819-1961) ' Beatrice ' for Princess Beatrice, later Princess Henry of Battenberg (1857-1944) ' Leopold ' for Prince Leopold, later Duke of Albany (1853-1884), ' Arthur ' for Prince Arthur, later Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850-1942) ' Louise ' for Princess Louise Later Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939) ' Helena ' for Princess Helena, later Princess Christian of Schleswig Holstein (1846-1923) ' Alfred ' for Prince Alfred, later Duke of Edinburgh and Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha ' Alice ' for Princess Alice, later Grand Duchess of Hesse Darmstadt (1843-1878) ' Albert Edward ' for Prince Albert Edward, later Prince of Wales and then King Edward VII (1841-1910) ' Victoria ' for Princess Victoria, later Empress of Germany (1840-1901).
