A Victorian silver-mounted glass claret-jug Mark of John Mortimer and John Samuel Hunt, London, 1841 Of ewer form, on circular foot, with helmet-shaped spout, the frosted glass body mounted with cast openwork grapevines and the crest of a cockerel, with vine-tendril handle and grapevine collar, the hinged cover with detachable cast cockerel finial and grapevine border, marked on foot-rim, mount and finial, the foot-rim also stamped 'Mortimer & Hunt' 14¾in. (37.5cm.) high
