A Vienna Porcelain and Giltwood Tall Case Clock 19th century in two parts, having a foliate carved cornice above the circular porcelain dial with Arabic numeral hours and painted to show two cherubs, signed Rob. Pilz/ Vienna, over two columnar porcelain supports painted to show draped maidens and and cherubs before the case set with various plaques, the base inset with an oval plaque painted to show a Bacchante signed Seller (lower right), the whole raised on flattened bun feet, the sides further inset with porcelain plaques of various sizes. Height 73 1/4 inches. Estimate $ 40,000-60,000 In overall good, stable condition. Case with fairly even bright gilt finish throughout. Some light surface wear (nicks and scratches) consistent with age and handling. All porcelain plaques and columns present and in good condition without cracks or repairs. Glass to dial intact. Works appear complete with pendulum and wired gong. Both spring takes a wind. Clock runs, unsure as to duration or accuracy of movement. Clock does not strike.
