A VIENNA-STYLE BURGUNDY-GROUND EWER AND CIRCULAR STAND with a gilt scroll handle, the ewer painted with Hercules & Diomedes and Venus u. Aeneas within ciselé gilt outlines, the ground richly gilt with horizontal bands of birds on interlaced branches, acanthus leaves reserved with bearded masks en grisaille , and leaves pendent from interlaced scrolls, the shoulder painted in colours with a band of arabesques below a silvered neck, on a flared foot, the stand painted with two bright-blue-ground oval cartouches reserved with a reclining god and goddess on a similar ground of gilt scrolls and arabesques (area of restoration to stand, minute chip to footrim of ewer, slight wear to well of stand), blue beehive marks, Pressnummer 804, iron-red script, circa 1880 12¾in. (32.5cm.) high
