A well detailed exhibition standard 1:50 scale fibreglass, wood and metal, electric powered model of the Italian Naval Frigate 'Luigi Rizzo', Pennant No.F593, built by W.S.Slavow.--20 x 76¼in (50.8 x 193.8cm) With signal mast, hallyards and aerials, radar, whip aerials and deck details including anchors, capstan, cleats and bollards, deck rails, companionways, lockers, hose reals, main and secondary armament superstructure with wheelhouse, range finders, life rafts, helicopter hanger and launching pad, helicopter, torpedo tubes, four canvas ship's boats and many other details. The hull with twin shafts, five bladded propellors and rudders, propellor guards, bilge keels, stabilisers and sonar dome. Finished in green to the waterline, light and dark grey and black. Stand, literature and fitted carrying box. One of four Bergamini Class frigates of the late 1950's. Luigi Rizzo was built by Castellammere, laid down 26/5/57; launched 6/3/60; completed 16/12/61.
