A well engineered 3½ in. gauge model of the NOrth Virginia State Railroad 4-4-0 locomotive and tender No.2946 "Virginia", built by R. Pearson with brazed superheated copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, whistle, clack and blowdown valves, the chassis with details including twin outside cylinders with Walschaert's valve gear, cab-controlled draincocks, mechanical lubricator, eccentric-driven feed pump and by pass, fully compensated working leaf springing to coupled axles and two tone whistle, with further details including brass bound, wood planked cab, tool boxes, cowcatcher, bell, paraffin fired working headlamp, mounted on pierced brass brackets, steps and hand irons, the tender with details including two four-wheel bogies with compensated springing, hand feed pump, bunker rails, steps and hand irons, finished in blue, red, black and polished brightwork -- 11½ x 44in.
