A well engineered model of the twin cylinder horizontal hydraulic pumping engine in the Boat Museum, Ellesmere Port originally built by Sir W G Armstrong & Co and modelled by H Beech. Measurements overall -- 9½ x 19¼in (24 x 49.5cm) With brass bound wood lagged cylinders 1 1/8in bore x 1 3/8in stroke, inlet manifolds with main stop valves, valve chest lubricators (dummy) studded stuffing boxes, bar type crosshead guides, forked connecting rods with crosshead driven hydraulic rams with associated pipes, belt driven watt-type governor, eccentric driven feed pump and centrally mounted flywheel. Finished in grey, orange and black and polished brightwork. Fabricated bed on chequerplate floor. (See illustration)
