A WELL-PRESENTED AND DETAILED BONE AND BALEEN NAPOLEONIC FRENCH PRISONER-OF-WAR MODEL OF THE 28-GUN 6 T H-RATE SYBIL with bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging with bone blocks, warrior-form figurehead, head rails, catheads, metal anchors, main and belaying rails, stove pipe, hammock racks, well deck with jolly boat over, companionways, double helm and stern davits with boat. The planked and pinned hull with baleen wale, brass guns, carved stern and quarter gallery decoration and rudder, is mounted on a planked bone base with carved balustrade and finials secured to a sliding wooden base with legend within a glazed wood-bound case with door. Overall measurements -- 14¾ x 17in. (37.5 x 43cm.) See illustration
