A Yamashiro Wakizashi Edo period (17th century), signed Omi (no) kami Minamoto Hisamichi and with chrysanthemum crest Sugata [configuration]: hon-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-kissaki, torii-zori Kitae [forging pattern]: itame with jinie Hamon [tempering pattern]: notare gunome in nioi and clusters of nie with ashi, sunagashi and yo Boshi [tip]: komaru with medium turnback Nakago [tang]: ubu, iri-yamagata with one hole and sujikai file marks Habaki [collar]: single, silver Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 22in. (56.1cm.) long Motohaba [width at start of tempered edge]: 1 3/8in. (3.5cm.) Sakihaba [width before tip]: 1in. (2.5cm.) In shirasaya [plain wood storage scabbard] With a Tokubetsu kicho token (Especially precious sword) certificate no. 5600641 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 1981.2.18
