A Bank of the United States check to John Adams for $20,000, endorsed on verso by the former President. -- ADAMS, JOHN QUINCY President . Partly printed document signed ("J.Q. Adams") as Secretary of State, Washington, 30 November 1819. 4 pages, 4to, small punctures . A customs circular on immigration, addressed to the Collector of Customs at Marblehead, pursuant to act of Congress, requesting lists of passengers on board all arriving ships, recording "age, sex and occupation," their nationality and whether they intend to become residents in the United States. -- ADAMS, CHARLES FRANCIS Autograph letter signed ("C.F. Adams") to C.D. Kellogg, Boston, 26 December 1858. 1 page, 12mo . The son of John Quincy Adams writes: "I have not the vanity to think my autograph would be of value...I send you instead some well-executed facsimiles of my father's." (3)
