AFFÒ, Ireneo (1741-1797) - Storia della città di Parma. Parma: Stamperia Carmignani, 1792-1795. First edition of this four-volume work on the history of Parma by Ireneo Affò, art historian, man of letters and numismatist. 4 volumes, 4to (286 x 214mm). Titles with engraved vignette depicting the coat of arms of the city of Parma, first volume with headpiece on leaf * 1r with portrait of the dedicatee Ferdinando I di Borbone engraved by Francesco Rosaspina woodcut headpieces (without author's portrait sometimes present in vol. I, without final blank in vol. III, few occasional light spots and some browning in vol. IV). Contemporary marbled boards backed in calf decorated in gilt, title on red morocco label, red edges (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: small exlibris surmounted by a crown - Bibl. Gust. C.
