Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars Karlsruhe, 1824 VÖLLINGER, Joseph (1790-1846). Grossherzoglich Badisches Militair. Karlsruhe: Johann von Velten, 1824. The army of the Grand Duchy of Baden in the years following the Napoleonic Wars. Cavalrymen, guards, artillerymen and infantry soldiers are depicted in various colorful uniforms and poses. Only five institutional copies found in WorldCat (two in the United States), and very rare at auction. Colas 3026; Lipperheide Qdc 8. Folio (420 x 310mm). Engraved title, engraved contents leaf, 30 hand-colored lithographs mounted on stubs (short closed tear to pl. 6, small corner loss to pl. 16; occasional light spotting and toning). 20th-century quarter blue morocco over marbled boards (edge and corner wear). Provenance: Gabriel Cottreau (1846-1916, Militaria collector; bookplate). Please note this lot is the property of a private individual.
