Engraved vignette on title, 69 engraved plates of which 4 folding, woodcut head- and-tail pieces. (Title lightly soiled, occasional light browning.) 19th-century quarter calf (joints split and repaired with tape, tail of spine heavily chipped). A later edition with FINE ENGRAVED PLATES. The unnamed editor's preface acknowledges his sources for the text as 'delle traduzioni di Cosimo Bartoli stampate in Venezia del 1565 e 1568' i.e. L'Architettura di Leon Battista Alberti , 1565 and Opuscoli morali , 1568; and for the plates as 'la sua bellissima edizione in Londra del 1726'. RIBA 55.
