Ginsberg and Leary first met in 1960, through Aldous Huxley, and appeared together at landmark counter-cultural events throughout the sixties. With two items of ephemera laid-in: Ginsberg's 'Statement' -- an appeal to fund Leary's defense ahead of his eventual conviction in 1970, and a stenciled banner promoting a psychedelic celebration organized by The League for Spiritual Discovery and led by Leary and Ginsberg. "Leary and Ginsberg had a long association as controversial icons in a slightly dubious anti-establishment movement.
