Watercolor on ivory, the subject in a blue jacket and yellow vest, 2 1/2 x 2 in., in a gold-tone case inset on the back with cobalt glass centering a hairwork oval with initials "JR" and seed pearl border. Condition: Good, interior of front glass dirty. Note: This miniature shows John Rowe, the husband of Esther Rowe (the subject of lot 160 in this auction), and the son of merchant and patriot John Rowe for whom a wharf is named on Boston's waterfront.
