BOTH PROBABLY ALBANIAN, 19TH CENTURY
AN 18-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED MIQUELET-LOCK HOLSTER PISTOL MADE FOR THE MONTENEGRIN MARKET, AND A BALKAN 18-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL BOTH PROBABLY ALBANIAN, 19TH CENTURY The first with plain swamped barrel and lock, all metal stock encased in silver decorated in relief with panels of scrollwork and foliage, fore-end sleeve decorated en suite, and iron ramrod (iron parts discoloured, some old repaired to stock); the second with swamped barrel incised with foliage, flat bevelled lock engraved with scrollwork, carved walnut stock with applied silver panels to the butt decorated with filigree work, the upper panel also with raised silver diamonds and dots and set with two pastes, iron mounts, spurred neilloed silver pommel, and silver fore-end sleeve cast and chased in relief with foliage and incorporating the false ramrod (iron parts discoloured, some wear to mounts) Respectively 13in. (33cm.) and 12 1/8in. (30.8cm.) barrels (2)
