An Alexander McQueen woven silk 'Feather' dress, 'Horn of Plenty' collection, Autumn-Winter, 2009-10. labelled and size 46, woven with red and black feathers with touches of blue, the princess-line gown with seams radiating from the high neck which traverse the hips and meet at the centre back, culminating in a large swagged bustle, the skirt narrowing again before finishing with a fish-tail hem, puffed, pleated over-sleeves, bust approx 96cm, 38in 'The Horn of Plenty' title was not only a comment on the excesses of modern fashion and consumerism, it was also the name of the public house that Jack the Ripper's last victim visited before she died. McQueen said he wanted his clothes to be preserved and handed down to the next generation and was repulsed by fast, disposable fashion. This woven gown mimics a défilé original covered in real plumes. .
