An American Anthology 1787-1900 Selections Illustrating the Editor's Critical Review of American Poetry in the Nineteenth Century Author: Stedman, Edmund Clarence, editor Place: Boston and New York Publisher: Houghton, Mifflin and Company Date: 1906 Description: With frontispiece portraits of poets and title page photograph of Emerson's grave. 20.5x13.7 cm (8x5½"), full morocco ruled in gilt, raised bands, spine sections decorated and lettered in gilt; all edges gilt with gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers. Ninth Impression. Nicely bound collection of American poetry including works by Poe, Longfellow, Whitman, Whittier, Bryant, Holmes, Lowell and Lanier. Lot Amendments Condition: Some sunning and minor staining to spine, a few touches of wear; binding solid, faint age-toning to pages; very good. Lots sold without reserve are sold “as Is” and are not returnable under any circumstances.
