Beschreibung:

An antique European salt-glazed stoneware pottery baluster jug An antique European salt-glazed stoneware pottery baluster jug, of bulbous outline with tigerware decoration and having applied chased gilt mounts, the lid heavily cast with mask heads and fruits, with a thumb scroll handle, unmarked, 22cm high. The stoneware body does have a single pinprick hole to the long neck above the bulbous body and from which there is a hairline crack that goes both vertically and partly around the circumference of the join between the neck and the bulbous body. There is a band on the lowest part of the bulbous boy of which the tiger work is discoloured/washed out but we feel that is an original fault and not a restoration. The condition of the gilt metal mounts is perfectly observable from the extra illustrations and we recommend that buyers view for themselves to satisfy any questions.
