An early 20th century Iraqi silver and niello cigarette dispenser, Omara circa 1930 signed Shoodod Of rectangular form upon a stepped base, a hinged lid, the front with a small flap raised by a rotating side handle, below with a cigarette rest. The lid with niello decoration of the Tomb of Ezra with palm trees. The sides with the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon) and a camel, the back with a dhow sailing boat and a boatman in a gufa, the other side with two dhow sailing boats, the front with niello initials HA in cypher. The swing flap with a dhow sailing boat, a boatman in a gufa and two camels. Signed to the reverse. Length – 10.4 cm / 4.1 inches Weight – 288 grams / 9.26 ozt
