Of grey-veined alabaster, the ovoid jar tapers to a flat base with two small lug handles on the shoulders, with an everted flat rim, with an old collection label on the base, 4.8cm high, Provenance: Mme Marcelle Desurmont-Prouvost (1892-1972) collection, Paris, acquired 1946; and thence by descent to M. H. François-Marsal, Nantes.
