The pot helmet of blackened iron, with heavy rounded one-piece skull, the base of the skull bordered by a row of dome-headed rivets (some replaced) and with a pierced brass plume-holder at the rear, pivoted bluntly-pointed fall with recessed turned edge and three-bar face-guard joined at the bottom to form a point, set with two horizontal waved bars and retaining traces of original gilding, bluntly-pointed neck-guard of simulated lames with recessed turned edge followed by dome-headed brass rivets each punched with foliage and retaining traces of gilding, and later triangular ear-pieces each pierced with four hearts centred on a circular hole, the cuirass comprising shot-proof breast-plate and matching back-plate, the former with low medial ridge drawn-out to a blunt point at the base, turned neck, arms and short flanged skirt bordered by a pair of incised lines, the neck and skirt with a line of dome-headed brass rivets, and with three staples, the back-plate en suite and with two later pivot-hook catches on later riveted shoulder-straps reinforced with shaped iron plates each pierced with a floret, the shot-proof placate fitted with three hooks for the staples and pierced with holes for the shoulder-straps, the back-plate retaining its original leather lining faced in silk (in poor condition and now mounted between sheets of perspex): mounted with a modern buff leather coat on a wooden stand
