AN UNUSUAL PAIR OF TURKISH 32-BORE SILVER-GILT MOUNTED OVER-AND-UNDER FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS LATE 19TH CENTURY With three-stage tapering barrels, each barrel with gilt engraved decoration including a sunburst, martial trophies and a crescent moon, tangs and flat bevelled locks each with engraved gilt decoration, the decoration on each lock involving a trophy of arms beneath the pan, each pan with sprung cover exposing the second touch-hole for the lower barrel, figured walnut full stocks each profusely decorated with inlaid silver wire scrollwork incorporating a sunburst and crescent moon on the butt, cast and chased silver-gilt mounts including trigger-guards each decorated in relief with a martial trophy, cast and chased silver-gilt escutcheons, and silver barrel-bands each engraved with crescent moons and stars 11¼ in.
