An unusual white soapstone figure of Guanyin China, Qing Dynasty, 18th Century the translucent white Shoushan stone with two faint greyish blushes to the rear, carved as an elegant female reclining with one leg drawn up and leaning upon a rootwood stand by her side, her supporting arm bent up to grasp a ruyi scepter, her large face with very rounded features set in a gentle smile below the urna and high chignon wrapped in a cowl, her loose robes spreading about her, and incised at the back with a signature Zhu Xian 6 1/8 in., 15.5cm
