A Russian verre eglomise table, glass top with “The Virtue of Lucretia” after Jean-Guillaume-Moitte in gilt, black, green and blue, beneath a mahogany and brass inlaid frieze, front with drawer, ebony sable-shaped legs, each with patinated bronze winged genii capitals and hoof endings. St. Petersburg, 20th century. H. 78 cm. L. 88 cm. W. 60 cm. The original table at the Pavlovsk Palace in St. Petersburg was designed by architect Andrey Nikiforovich Voronikhin (1759–1814) and made by Heinrich Gambs is placed in the bedroom of the private suite of Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna (1759–1828, married to Tsar Paul I of Russia), which was furnished in 1805.
