Gwyn, 6 planches gravées par Rowlandson pour A Dissertation on the Use of the Broad Sword et un portrait du chevalier de St. George gravé par Ward d'après Brown. (Quelques rousseurs et pâles mouillures dans les marges, restauration dans la marge inférieure de la planche 46.) Demi-maroquin rouge à coins, pièce de titre de maroquin sur le premier plat (reliure un peu frottée). Provenance : R.S. Meade (ex-libris manuscrit accompagné de la date "1924"). ÉDITION ORIGINALE de ce grand classique d'escrime. Fils aîné du célèbre maître d'armes Domenico Angelo, Henry Angelo a repris ici les planches qui illustraient le traité de son père École des armes (1763). Bien complet de l'avis au lecteur relié en tête du volume et dans lequel l'auteur explique pourquoi il les publie à nouveau: "My object for the re-publication being to convince the Nobility and Gentry of the utility of the art".
