ANONYMOUS, late 20th-Century A reproduction 4 inch (10.2cm.) diameter terrestrial miniature table globe made up of twelve printed paper gores and two polar calottes, copied from GLOBUS TERRESTRIS juxta recentissimus ob.servation et navigationes peritissimor Geogrph. accuratissime delineato cura et similibus MATTH. SEUTTERI Chalcogr: August showing original paper loss, the equator graduated in degrees and hand coloured in green, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month, showing symbols for the houses of the Zodiac and hand coloured in red, the oceans with wind roses, complete Antarctic coastline, California shown as an island, Alaska shown with partial projected coastline, Australia with West and North coastline only, joined to New Guinea, Tasmania shown in partial coastline, labelled I. Tasmans , the continents darkly hand coloured in green, red and yellow ( some gaps between gores, some loss of detail, new varnish, some small chips ), the brass meridian half circle unengraved, raised on simply turned fruitwood column and plinth base 9 inch (24.1cm.) high
